The newly-launched ProLogis Park Będzin II Distribution Centre in Będzin offers 19,500 sq. m of space. With its 15,000 sq. m, the Distribution Centre in Stargard Szczeciński scheduled to commence operations early next year, is only a little smaller. And the Emperia Trading Group is planning further similar facilities, among others in Poznań and Rzeszów, locations in Bydgoszcz or Toruń are also being considered.

“Modern Distribution Centres are part of the development strategy of Tradis, a limited liability company that has been tasked with the integration of the wholesale business of the Emperia Trading Group, to be completed by July next year. Our plan is to cover the entire Poland with a network of modern Distribution Centres and Cash&Carry locations, operating as six geographical regions. For out clients it will mean even better and faster access to a wide range of products offered by our wholesale operations. On the other hand, the integration of the wholesale (distribution) business of the Emperia Trading Group as part of Tradis will provide our clients with consistent terms of business throughout Poland and will give them the opportunity of doing business with a single partner, operating nationally under one NIP tax number,” says Mr Jarosław Wawerski, Chairman of Tradis Sp. z o.o. Management Board.

The new warehouses are equipped with modern goods management systems. A computer system monitors goods from receipt at the warehouse to shipment to the client. Scanners are used to check goods in and put shipments together, which significantly reduces delivery errors. Similar systems are operated at the other Distribution Centres of the Emperia Trading Group.

Emperia Trading Group Distribution Centres are already operational in Lublin, Błonie, Gdańsk and Wrocław. The recently launched Będzin Distribution Centre currently offers 10,000 product items, to ultimately increase to 12,000, and has 260 employees on its payroll. The next location scheduled for launch is the Stargard Szczeciński Distribution Centre with a workforce of 140.

The Emperia Trading Group is one of the largest Polish FMCG wholesale and retail trading groups. The company has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 2002. Thanks to the cutting-edge IT and logistic system and attractive terms of business, Emperia Trading Group has become the leading partner for over 50,000 Polish grocery outlets. The GHE wholesale subsidiaries boast 70 distribution warehouses throughout Poland. The Emperia retail chains operate over 2,000 stores and supermarkets.
